Tickets
Yes, there are special rates for groups of 10 or more. Please contact Customer Service for current group rates, or submit your request to book your group here.
You can purchase a discounted second-day ticket up to 10 days after your visit. Present your ticket at Ticketing or call Customer Service to take advantage of this offer.
There is an additional cost for certain events, exhibits, and attractions, such as Washington Revelations, a multi-sensory tour “flying” past biblical references in and around Washington, DC.
All museum ticket purchases are final. Refunds are only available if cancellation or no-show is due to inclement weather or state of emergency. However, unused tickets may be exchanged for future visits within 6 months of the original visit date. Contact Customer Service for more information.
With a museum membership, you can enjoy free entry, free access to tours and attractions, and more all year long! You can apply the cost of your ticket(s) toward membership by calling Customer Service or speaking with a guest relations associate at the Ticketing counter in the museum.

Visiting the Museum
Outside food is not permitted in the museum. Outside drinks are not permitted in the museum except for water in a sealed container. For food options in the museum, you can visit Manna, the museum’s restaurant on Floor 6, and Milk + Honey Café, located on the Mezzanine (Floor 1M). Learn more about our dining options here.
Open food and beverages are not permitted in any of the exhibit areas, galleries, or attractions.
Upon entering the museum, you will pass through a brief security screening. For the safety and overall enjoyment of our guests, any items that may be hazardous, disruptive, or inappropriate are not permitted.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Weapons, such as firearms, knives, scissors, etc.
- Disabling chemicals, such as mace, pepper spray, tear gas, etc.
- Noise-making devices
- Animals/pets (except for service animals)
- Food and/or drink (except for water in a sealed container)
- Any other potentially dangerous instruments, armaments, or devices which can cause bodily harm to guests, museum staff, or others, and/or physical harm to museum property; or any items specifically prohibited to possess as per law in Washington, DC

Baggage, handbags, backpacks, shopping bags, and belongings are limited to 8” x 17” x 19” per item. You may also store luggage, carry-on suitcase size or smaller, at Coat Check. Space is limited, however, and is available on a first come, first served basis.
Note: All guests and baggage are subject to a security screening.
Yes, you may take personal photos, videos, and/or audio recordings with handheld or cellphone cameras for private, noncommercial use only. Photography for commercial purposes must be approved by the museum.
Please note that the use of flash is prohibited in all museum areas, and you may not take photos of other guests and museum staff without consent. For more information, please see our Guest Photography and Video Policy.
There are loud sounds and bright lights in the Hebrew Bible Experience, Washington Revelations attraction, and all theaters (New Testament Experience, Galilee Theater, Drive Thru History Theater and mini-theaters, and the World Stage Theater).
You are welcome to leave the museum and re-enter within the same day of your visit. Simply re-enter via the main public entrance on 4th Street SW, proceed through the brief security screening, and show your ticket to a guest relations associate at the end of the Ticketing counter for access to the museum. Please visit the Ticketing counter if you have lost your ticket or have any additional questions.
The museum does not currently provide earphones or headphones for app tours. Please bring your own to get the best experience with the self-guided and Top 10 tours on the Museum of the Bible app.
Yes, there is a Lost and Found at Coat Check.
Yes, there are benches and resting areas throughout all the floors.
Our average length of stay is 3–4 hours.
Yes, we keep the museum at a safe temperature for the artifacts, which is between 68–72 degrees. If that is cold to you, feel free to bring a sweater.
Some artifacts have been removed temporarily for rotation or conservation purposes.
Upon request, we offer the Museum of the Bible Highlights Tour and the World of Jesus of Nazareth Tour in Korean and Spanish (request must be made 30 days in advance through Customer Service at 866-430-MOTB).
You can also find museum maps in different languages on our website and the Museum of the Bible app.

We highly suggest guests utilize the Metro as parking is very limited in the area. Museum of the Bible is conveniently located within steps of the Federal Center SW Metro Station, which can be reached on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. Visit www.WMATA.com for up-to-date information on the Metro and buses.
Visiting with Children
Throughout the museum, you can find engaging and interactive activities for the whole family. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Visit the World of Jesus of Nazareth, located on Floor 3. Walk around this immersive re-creation of a Galilean village and see what life was like in first-century Nazareth.
- Visit Courageous Pages, a fun, interactive experience just for kids, located on Floor 1.
- Walk through the stories of the Old Testament in the Hebrew Bible Experience, located on Floor 3. Please note that this experience has loud sounds and bright lights.
- Watch a live demonstration of our Gutenberg printing press (hours vary), located on Floor 2.
- Join an Education event for families, students, or homeschoolers. See our events page to view all upcoming events.
- Participate in one of our K–12 programs. Find out more about these special programs here.
- Play the David vs. Goliath game on one of the HISTORIES kiosks located on each floor. To play, pick up an NFC card on Floor 1. The game is open to kids of all ages. See a Guest Relations Associate for questions.
Throughout our galleries, you can also find other engaging activities such as testing your Bible knowledge with our quiz tables, exploring a variety of topics on our touch tables, and much more to engage the whole family with the history, stories, and impact of the Bible!
Floors B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have a family restroom with baby changing facilities. You can find the mother’s room on Floor 1 by the main restrooms.
Visit our Group Reservations page for information about booking a group and special benefits and rates. The museum offers special educational programs for students in kindergarten through high school, and school groups receive one complimentary adult ticket for every 10 students.
Strollers are allowed in the museum, and they can also be checked in at Coat Check. We do not have them for rent.

Wheelchairs for our guests are available on a first come, first served basis and are free at Coat Check on Floor 1.
Trained service animals are welcome at Museum of the Bible. All service animals must remain on a leash or be harnessed at all times.
The museum offers tours for guests who use American Sign Language. We can also accommodate requests for a descriptive tour for the one-hour Museum of the Bible Highlights tour. You may refer to our accessibility page for more information about how to request one of these tours.
