Celebrate the season at Museum of the Bible with a fun-filled day of activities for the whole family! Planned activities include a Nativity scavenger hunt and Christmas crafts.
Kids' Nativity Diorama Challenge
Calling all young artists! Have you ever wanted to display your art at a museum? Now you can! Create your own Nativity diorama and bring it to the museum on Sunday, December 13, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All entries will be displayed in a special exhibit in the museum throughout the holiday season.
Guidelines for the Nativity Diorama Challenge
Dioramas may not exceed 24" x 18". Please do not use any food products.
Participants who bring a diorama to display will receive one (1) complimentary general admission ticket to the museum, which can be redeemed between December 13, 2020 (Family Fun Day), and January 15, 2021.
Dioramas will be displayed through January 10, 2021. If you wish to collect your diorama after the exhibition, please contact education@mBible.org to arrange a pick-up time between January 10 and 15, 2021. Dioramas not collected by January 15, 2021, will be discarded.
How to Participate
1. Create a diorama inspired by the Nativity that follows all of the guidelines listed above.
2. Bring your completed diorama to Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, on Sunday, December 13, 2020, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. After you pass through the security, a staff member will greet you and provide you with a museum voucher. This voucher is redeemable for one (1) complimentary general admission ticket to the museum, which can be redeemed between December 13, 2020, and January 15, 2021.
3. After you receive your voucher, a staff member will provide you with a label to complete with the following information:
• Name
• Age
• Material(s) Used
• Description of Work
This label will accompany your diorama while on display.
