IllumiNations: Museum of the Bible Opens in Washington, D.C.

Marking a historic event, Museum of the Bible opened today in Washington, D.C.! A museum dedicated to the Bible. The entire fourth floor of this eight-floor exhibit space is devoted entirely to the History of the Bible, including the “illumiNations Global Bible”—an exhibit celebrating the Bible’s accessibility. It features Bibles in over 2,000 different languages.

Organizations and people from all over the world contributed hundreds of Bibles in a multiplicity of languages and dialects, representing many of the known translations of the Bible. On the Stories of the Bible floor, museum guests are completely immersed in the Bible’s story in a way never done before!

Artifacts and exhibits, paired with technologically advanced features throughout the museum, create a “complete experience” of biblical engagement. An engagement of the Bible’s history, stories, and impact over the centuries!
