Vice President Pence: The Verse Above His Mantle

At a private gathering before the prayer breakfast, Vice President Mike Pence talked about the Bible verse he has above his mantle: Jeremiah 29:11.

”For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

He also quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14—the verse he selected to be opened to when he took his oath of office:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The Bible Pence used at his swearing-in was the same Bible used by Ronald Reagan in 1981!
