The Wordless Book

Did you know the Wordless Book was first introduced in 1866 to children by the popular preacher, Charles Spurgeon?
With only three pages in black, red, and white, Spurgeon used it to teach the story of God’s love from the Bible.
Other preachers of the time, like D. L. Moody, also began using the Wordless Book in their children’s services.
When the wife of Child Evangelism Fellowship’s founder discovered the book in 1924, CEF began mass producing it, and the Wordless Book became a popular children’s book in America!
It’s said children would beg the famous hymn writer, Fanny Crosby, to “tell a story!” She’d take a little Wordless Book and tell the children, whom she deeply loved, the story of Jesus!
Page colors have been added over the years, but the story has never changed.
Engage with the Bible—in its never-changing story!
