International Museum Day 2018

Did you know there is an estimated 36,000 museums located in the US? Or that there are more museums in the US than Starbuck’s and McDonald’s—combined? International Museum Day draws attention to museums’ roles as agents of cultural exchange and institutions that promote understanding among the people of the world. Consider our nation’s capital alone—the home of the massive Smithsonian complex, including the National Air and Space Museum and the new National Museum of African American History and Culture.

It's also the home of the Museum of the Bible, opened in November 2017, with it’s forty-foot high entrance flanked by massive bronze panels engraved with the words of Genesis 1 from the Gutenberg Bible. It's engaging people with the significant history and narrative of the Bible—and in its impact on every aspect of life.
