A Note from Jackie

The Legacy of Kay Arthur

Jackie Green presents Kay Arthur with Museum of the Bible's 2023 Impact Award.

In 2023, Museum of the Bible presented the Impact Award to the late Kay Arthur. She was recognized for impacting so many lives through her dedication to sharing the Bible’s message. After receiving the award, she discussed the significant influence the Bible has had on her life. She shared, “I was raised with a religion without a relationship. I was baptized, and I was confirmed. Later, my father became an Episcopal priest. When I came to know Jesus Christ, by that time, I was married, I was divorced, I was immoral, and I had sunken into a pit I had dug with my own hands. But then there was a day that God had brought me face to face with all of this. It was the Word of God that changed me. I wanted everyone to know and understand God’s Word. I wanted them to be able to study it.” Little did she know that God would use her to become a great Bible teacher who would leave a legacy for generations.

As Kay studied the Bible, she invited people worldwide to do the same. Through God’s leading, Kay developed an inductive approach to study the books of the Bible systematically. She said, “We are to live by every Word that comes from the mouth of God, and we need to teach people how to study and how to live by the Word of God.” Today, her ministry is known as Precept Ministries. Through radio and television, it has reached over 75 million households in more than 30 countries. Kay made a significant impact on several nations.

Although Kay has passed, her son David Arthur is president of Precept Ministries and carries on the legacy of pointing people to the Bible. He joined his mother for the Pillar Awards event and was asked, “How will you carry on this incredible ministry?” He responded, “2 Timothy resonates with us when Paul says to Timothy, ‘Guard the treasure.’ If you walk through 2 Timothy, you can see treasure is a synonym for the Word of God. I am stepping onto an amazing platform that Mom and the team have built, and my desire is to ‘Guard that treasure’ by getting it to others.”

Pillar Awards host Abigail Robertson said it best, “Kay’s life, legacy, and impact on people was astounding.” She was a woman of generational legacy, who was willing to follow God’s call. As each of us pursues God’s call in our community of women, one way we can have an impact is by encouraging Bible engagement. It may not be through a book or a radio station, but it can be in the home, in the workplace, in the church, or in whatever sphere God has placed us. We can leave a legacy of “guarding the treasure” and inviting all people to engage with the transformative power of God’s Word.

Women of Legacy Summit & Reunion 2025

Highlights

A community of women encouraging Bible engagement generationally.

It was a joy to encourage one another in Bible engagement through the Women of Legacy Summit & Reunion 2025 at Museum of the Bible! Staying at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria provided the perfect setting to begin the elegant Wednesday evening dinner with special speakers and worship leaders. Shane & Shane reminded us of God’s powerful Word while the speakers encouraged the women in their walk with God.

Jackie Green speaks to the 2024 Summit and Reunion attendees.

On Thursday, everyone traveled to Museum of the Bible to see many extraordinary Bibles, scrolls, artifacts, and displays. The VIP tours showcased exquisite exhibits, including the Megiddo Mosaic, C. S. Lewis, and presentations about the Bible’s impact on the world.

The fun did not stop at the tours. There were marvelous breakout sessions and lovely meals that accentuated the time together perfectly. Engaging with the Bible and its influence on society was so insightful.

Friday ended with an inspirational panel to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of God’s Word. May the insight, laughter, and love that was shared continue in the lives of those who were able to attend. We were blessed to hear several attendees say that the event was altogether “life changing,” which is the best compliment of all. Our prayers for you are that you went home enriched by the fellowship, teaching, educational tours, and overall experience, and that you will join us again and bring others to Museum of the Bible.

A Legacy with Sherri Boyd—Women of Legacy Ambassador

Dru Walker and Sherri Boyd

Sherri Boyd, an ambassador for Women of Legacy, shared that her involvement with the Museum of the Bible “began the day she met Jackie Green.” She took her Bible study group to the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission, where a mutual friend introduced them. The friend told Sherri and Jackie, “You share a love in a common interest. You both love the Bible.”

Sherri says, "My joy comes from the foundation with the Lord and His teachings and His Word. And whatever the Greens were doing to honor His Word; I wanted to be a part of that.”

It began with Passages dinners in Oklahoma City and Dallas. Then, there was the Topping Out Ceremony at  Museum of the Bible, with beautiful dinners amid all the construction in the building. Jackie created beautiful dinner tables that stretched through the middle of the massive construction. I remember speeches  by the architects, the engineers, and the foreman, who said every worker knew of the mission of the museum and everyone gave special effort to their particular job.  And on November 17, 2017, they opened Museum of the Bible to friends and supporters.

How are you involved with the museum today?

I am a part of the Women of Legacy Group. I support Museum of the Bible, and I pray.

Can you summarize your legacy story?

As with so many, I found the Lord in high school and then, during college, moved away from Him. Eventually, through a series of circumstances, I found myself in a deep, dark pit with a marriage that was falling apart and two precious babies who needed a very strong mother, but they weren't getting one. And so, I moved back to Jesus with all my heart, and I've been there ever since. He restored the marriage, and an incredible family added two more babies, one of which was Dru. I hope my family remembers my struggles and my decision to reach out to Jesus, and that they'll hang on to him, too. My dream is to bring all our family members to Museum of the Bible with Steve and Jackie and for them to see how important it is to David and me.

Your daughter, Dru Walker, filled a unique role as the manager of Women of Legacy at Museum of the Bible. Even though she is moving into full-time motherhood, what did you love about her being such a big part of Women of Legacy?

She loved serving the Lord for the museum. I felt Dru and Jackie were a force used by the Lord in a tremendous way to bless women who love him, women who are coming to know him, and women who love his Word. I watched my daughter flourish. She has a natural gift, as Jackie does, for organizing and attention to detail. I loved how she was so confident in her role at Women of Legacy, how she could speak in front of very accomplished women with such sweetness and grace. I also loved how she seemed to know every woman, where they were from, their details, and their family’s details. She loved her job.

Also, your son Connor Boyd works with Inspire, which exists to “inspire confidence in God's Word through Christ-centered experiences and resources.” Inspire leads trips to Museum of the Bible. What do you encourage him to pass on to others about Museum of the Bible?

He's loved the Bible since he was a young boy, and he would sleep with his Bible next to his bed. He has degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and a PhD in theology from Edinburgh University. I would encourage him to continue on this path that God is leading him. He's blessed him with a beautiful family and a series of past experiences that equip him to do amazing work for God.

Which Women of Legacy speaker has impacted you in a personal way?

It was Sally Lloyd-Jones, children's book author. After hearing her speak, I ordered several of her books, including The Jesus Storybook Bible. Sally and Shane & Shane did a presentation and I thought my heart was going to fly right out of my body. It was fabulous. It was the Holy Spirit, glory, glory, glory.

What encouragement would you give to someone who's going to see Museum of the Bible?

I would say, go to the top, go through and see what most interests you, but don't miss the Hebrew Bible Experience or the New Testament Experience. It's all just fabulous.

Museum Exhibits

Museum of the Bible opened several exciting exhibitions in 2025, and we couldn’t have done so without the ongoing support of the Women of Legacy.

In The Megiddo Mosaic: Foundations of Faith, the mosaic floor from the earliest place dedicated to Christian worship was displayed. It features the first time Jesus is called God in an archaeological inscription. The inscription honors a woman who dedicated a table to the worship of "God Jesus Christ." Four other women are also called to be remembered, showing the fundamental importance of women in the early church. This exhibit was generously funded by the Women of Legacy.

Another extraordinary piece of biblical archaeology was on display with the Tel Dan Stele, which contains the earliest extrabiblical reference to the “House of David.” Loaned by the Israel Antiquities Authority, the museum displayed the historic stone in the Grand Hall so everyone could see it for free.

To cap off 2025, the museum opened Dead Sea Scrolls: The Exhibition. Put on in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority, the exhibition will showcase 24 authentic Dead Sea Scrolls alongside hundreds of artifacts that illuminate life in the Second Temple period, including during the time of Jesus. The Dead Sea Scrolls are the most important ancient texts of the Hebrew Bible, and they show the attention and dedication that has been lavished on studying, copying, and preserving the Bible. The museum is the only place on the East Coast that will host the exhibition, making Museum of the Bible the premiere spot for biblical engagement.

The museum’s “Personal Stories” exhibit this year focused on C. S. Lewis's journey with faith and the Bible. Through personal letters and effects, together with first editions of his literary works, the exhibit traces Lewis’s transformation from atheist to Christian writer and apologist. If you haven’t seen it, hurry before it closes February 14.

LOGOS at the World Stage Theater

Museum of the Bible was once again excited to host The Logos Theatre for their production of C. S. Lewis's beloved classic that started it all, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Guests came from near and far to see the stunning sets, the magnificent puppetry, and the thrilling adventure of Logos's production, and they left transformed by the performance's biblical message. Below are just some of the many powerful testimonies from guests.

Viewer Testimonies

“I've had so many positive interactions with visitors over our time at the Museum of the Bible this fall. There have been so many small interactions with people who look tired, discouraged or simply move in a way that looks heavy before the show, and after the show, they come out beaming! They look like they entered in a daze, but they left awake and alive with joy!”
— Virginia Hawley

“So many are coming into the museum to see the shows and then seeing the museum for the first time and being so moved and blessed!”
— Olivia Singleton

“When Aslan came out [the couple] said that they were gutted, they felt so many emotions, and said that they were in awe and amazement, that the whole room was ‘filled with HIM.’”
— Briana Yopp

God Meant it for Good: The True Story of Joseph and His Brothers in Egypt

And don’t miss the premiere of the first biblical epic at the World Stage Theater. The Logos Theatre presents the story of Joseph in “God Meant It for Good”: The True Story of Joseph and His Brothers in Egypt. Opens February 6, 2026.
