Our volunteer program will have Volunteer or Docent* roles. Service areas of interest include:

  • Public Galleries
  • Information Desk
  • Theater Ushers
  • Group Greeters
  • Special Events
  • Educational Presenter
*Docent training requires an additional 30+ hours of training

Minimum of one (1) year of volunteer service commitment

  • A commitment to the Museum’s mission; To invite all people to engage with the Bible
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to our guests and staff
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude are essential
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 4.5 hours with minimal assistance
  • Basic computer skills for training, scheduling, and communication via e-mail
  • Access to a computer; valid e-mail address
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Available during Museum hours of operation, which include weekdays, weekends, and evenings
  • Desire to be cross trained in a variety of Museum departments
  • Ability to complete basic 3-day training

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

You must be 18 years old or above to volunteer.

What is the time commitment to join the volunteer program?

We ask for a one year commitment to the volunteer program. Due to the training requirements, a shorter assignment is not available during our initial programming.

Am I required to complete a background check?

Yes, all volunteers must successfully complete a thorough background check.

What is the volunteer schedule?

Volunteer Schedules are available in 4.5 hour shifts on Weekdays, Weekends and Evenings with a minimum of 9 hours per month

I am interested in volunteering and can meet all the program’s requirements (e.g. can attend all training classes, make the time commitment, etc.). What do I do next?

No, our volunteers come from varied backgrounds but possess a love for the Bible.
