Museum of the Bible to Host One-Day Special Event: ‘Theology of Making’ with One of the World’s Greatest Living Abstract Artists, Makoto Fujimura

Lecture to Examine Mako Fujimura’s Exhibit “The Art of the Gospels” Currently on Display at Museum of the Bible 

WASHINGTON — Museum of the Bible will present “Theology of Making” a half-day event on art, beauty and creativity, in the Gathering Room at Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. April 21, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The featured artist and speaker, Makoto (Mako) Fujimura, is considered one of the world’s greatest living abstract painters and is currently displaying his renowned “The Four Holy Gospels” work at the Museum of the Bible through the end of April. Fujimura will present an overview of his exhibition, “The Art of the Gospels” and host a panel discussion with experts exploring what God calls Christians to co-create with him.

Other notable panel speakers and guests joining Mako include:

  • William Dyrness – Professor of Theology and Culture at Fuller Theological Seminary
  • Bruce Herman – Painter, essayist and Professor of Art at Gordon College
  • Kate Shin – Entrepreneur, real estate developer and owner of Waterfall Mansion Gallery in New York that hosts annual displays of Mako Fujimura’s work

Mako Fujimura is an artist, author, speaker and the Director of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology and the Arts at Fuller Theological Seminary.
