Museum of the Bible to celebrate National Bible Week on D.C.’s National Mall
WASHINGTON — Beginning with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1941, U.S. presidents have declared the week of Thanksgiving National Bible Week.
In celebration of National Bible Week, Museum of the Bible staff and volunteers will give away “Global Impact Bibles” at David’s Tent DC on the National Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, and Sunday, Nov. 21. In addition, ticketed museum guests can receive “Global Impact Bibles” from Monday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Nov. 28. The museum will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 25.
“It’s no coincidence to me that National Bible Week and the Thanksgiving holiday are intertwined,” said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. “The Bible calls us in many ways to look outside ourselves, to serve others and to be grateful for life’s blessings, which is why we’re thrilled to offer free Bibles to visitors to our nation’s capital.”
