Press Release

Museum of the Bible remains closed due to Coronavirus

Washington D.C., March 27, 2020 - Museum of the Bible remains temporarily closed to the public.  Museum management will continue to assess the situation and determine the best course of action through this public health emergency.

“During this difficult time, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we do what is best for everyone involved,” said Harry Hargrave, Chief Executive Officer.

The museum has also canceled or postponed numerous public events that had been scheduled for March and April, respecting the D.C. government’s ban on all gatherings larger than 50 people, in effect until April 27th.

Employees will continue to tele-work, except for those essential to the care of artifacts, exhibits, building operations and security.  Staff are focused and working diligently to ensure the museum will be ready and accessible to our guests when the museum re-opens.

The museum will continue to post updates on https://www.museumofthebible.org/. Guests may also call the museum’s customer service center at 866-430-MOTB.

Museum of the Bible reminds the public that reliable, up-to-date information about the coronavirus is available at the CDC and DC Health websites.
