Using YouVersion’s Bible App, partnership will showcase cutting-edge exhibits and collaborative, digital programming

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Museum of the Bible announces its multi-faceted partnership with YouVersion, the creator of the popular Bible App that features 1,367 Bible versions in 1,007 languages and has been downloaded more than 230 million times and in every country in the world.

When the 430,000 square-foot Museum of the Bible opens its doors in Washington D.C. in November of 2017, the YouVersion partnership will be visible throughout the museum.

“YouVersion represents an extraordinary partner for the Museum of the Bible,” said Museum President Cary Summers. “Not only is YouVersion the most widely downloaded Bible App in the world, the sophisticated analytics supporting their platform allow us to translate that data into breathtaking exhibits that give the public unprecedented insight into how people all around the world engage in the history, narrative and impact of the Bible.”

TheBible In Dataexhibit located in the Bible Now area will showcase a macro view of the most popular verses, translations and languages being used through the Bible App in real time across the world.

The “Bible in Translation” exhibit located in the illumiNations section will illustrate the journey toward making the Bible universally accessible. The exhibit will utilize YouVersion to demonstrate that the Bible is the most widely available and most read text in the world, while simultaneously showing which people groups still need the Bible translated into their “heart language.”

Guests will be invited to download a Museum of the Bible-branded version of the Bible App on their personal device – an exclusive offering from YouVersion.

“We are tremendously excited to come alongside the Museum of the Bible to offer interactive and powerful exhibits within the museum space that will help people connect with the Bible, as well as the complementary museum-branded Bible App, reading plans and other digital content we’re developing to engage people beyond the museum walls,” said Bobby Gruenewald, Innovation Leader at Life.Church and founder of YouVersion. “Our hope is that these projects will encourage people to engage with the Bible and grow their desire to study and know the text so that it enriches their lives.”

Museum of the Bible and YouVersion will kick off their partnership Aug. 1 by releasing a 15-day, Olympic-themed reading plan, the first of many museum plans available exclusively on the YouVersion Bible App. Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish, the reading plan explores the Bible’s impact on the modern Olympic Games while highlighting its influence on the lives of famous Olympians such as gymnast Shannon Miller, “The Flying Scotsman” Eric Liddell, soccer star Kaká, track legend Lolo Jones and more.
