Museum of the Bible Premieres a Major Theatrical Production of Joseph: God Meant It for Good

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 26, 2026 — Museum of the Bible will debut "Joseph: God Meant It for Good" on February 6 at the World Stage Theater in Washington, D.C. Created and produced by The Academy of Arts Logos Theatre, this live production is the first of a series of biblical epics to premiere at the museum over the next few years. "Joseph" is opening to the public on February 7.

“Crime thrillers, family sagas, love stories, musicals and dramas — the Bible is full of stories that spark imaginations for centuries. We are thrilled to bring one of these epics to life at our state-of-the-art World Stage Theater,” said Matthias Walther, chief marketing officer at Museum of the Bible. “This production is a Broadway-level, authentic retelling of the biblical story of the Old Testament character Joseph.”

The dramatic retelling of Joseph chronicles a young shepherd boy daring to believe God’s dreams for his life and the unbelievable true journey of betrayal and bondage that led to glory and honor. The production is an original script and production of The Academy of Arts Logos Theatre, the same theater company that presented “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “The Pilgrim’s Progress” to sold-out audiences at Museum of the Bible.

This limited run marks the 10-year anniversary of when “Joseph: God Meant It for Good” first premiered at The Academy of Arts theatre in South Carolina.

“Starting in the pit and triumphantly ending in the palace, Joseph’s story is an unvarnished account of betrayal, endurance and moral clarity — where what was meant for evil became the making of a nation,” said Noah Stratton, president of The Academy of Arts Ministries. “It is a story of dreams, forgiveness and divine purpose forged through betrayal and slavery, reminding audiences that though life gives a chance to be a victim, faith emboldens us to be a victor.”

“Joseph: God Meant It for Good” is a 100-minute family-friendly production, presented in association with The Academy of Arts Logos Theatre. Tickets are available now at museumoftheBible.org/events/god-meant-it-for-good.
