This exhibition explores the Bible’s role in the historical relationship between science and religion. Many today believe that religious faith and the natural sciences are very separate subjects. Indeed, many consider the Bible to be an obstacle to scientific progress. Yet, for centuries, faith and the study of nature were very much entangled. At times, biblical beliefs helped encourage people to study the world. They even influenced the rise of science as we know it today.
Join the Education Department as we dive into the six essential questions raised by this exhibition: How did it all begin? What keeps the universe running? How did life begin? What makes me human? What can we accomplish? How will it all end? Hosting scholars and educators from around the world, we invite learners of all ages to interact with this landmark exhibition that seeks to spur dialogue about some of life’s biggest questions.
You are invited to participate in 10 different education programs which include: student immersive experiences, family activities, roundtable discussions, lectures, homeschool day, special presentations about artifacts that will stimulate your curiosity to learn more about scripture and science in everyday life. We cannot wait to see you!

Lunch & Learn

April 19, 2023
Teaching science and scripture? Most schools have shied away from teaching the Bible and science together in the same classroom. Yet, what if teaching the two in conversation with each other revolutionized how each is understood by secondary-school students? Museum of the Bible’s newest exhibition, Scripture and Science, demonstrates how the two have been in conversation historically.
Join us on April 19 for a special Lunch & Learn featuring the first presentation of the Educator Conference: “Why Should We Teach Scripture and Science? and Other Questions Educators Ask” with Professor Lawrence Principe of Johns Hopkins University. Principe will outline how scripture and science have been in conversation with one another. Join us for this impactful Lunch & Learn and bring your questions!
