Printed by John Baskett at Oxford, this 1727 King James Bible is bound together with a 1726 copy of the Book of Common Prayer, a 1726 London edition of Downame’s concordances, and a metrical psalter in English. 131 of John Sturt’s engraved illustrations and maps appear throughout the text. These engravings were initially designed for Samuel Wesley’s “History of the Holy Bible” but were later included in various family Bibles such as this copy.
Printed in 1727 by John Baskett, Oxford. Acquired by Christian Heritage Museum, Hagerstown, Maryland; Privately purchased in 2010 by Green Collection, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, under the curatorial care of Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
