Peyton Siva, Jr. - University of Louisville Basketball Point Guard

Peyton Siva Jr. is one of the most prolific point guards in the history of University of Louisville basketball. In 2013, he led his team to an NCAA National Championship.Siva grew up in a family with a history of alcohol and drug abuse, but used his championship platform to encourage others facing the same life struggles.

A youth pastor played a major role in Peyton’s life, leading Bible studies Siva attended each week, and each day sending him a text message with a Bible passage to encourage him. When an ESPN reporter interviewed Siva, he asked about the daily text messages, specifically the one for that day. Without hesitation Siva quoted Romans 8:18, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
