SAMSON (the Movie)

Samson is the legendary Israelite warrior portrayed in the book of Judges 13–16, and the subject of the new Pure Flix film release, Samson! It’s not the first time Samson’s been portrayed in a major film release. In 1949, Cecil B. DeMille’s Samson and Delilah was the first major Bible movie since the silent-era of film.

It generated a new genre of biblical storytelling popular in the 1950s. Bruce Macdonald, director of the current Samson movie, said: “Samson was an unwilling hero, and his journey to regain his faith—the whole story—is relevant.” Pure Flix CEO Michael Scott said: “For anyone who ever wondered if they really could do what God called them to do, this film is for them.”
