Bible Bowl 2017

“By the Hand Club” is a program geared to Chicago’s most under-resourced, lowest academic-performing neighborhood kids, who participate in an after-school educational curriculum developed by Museum of the Bible.

Former ad agency president, Donnita Travis, left her position to begin the after-school program for high-risk children in 2001. Referencing John 10:10, she says, “it’s all about helping kids have abundant and eternal life!” Last year, children in the program earned their highest GPA ever; 84% passed all their classes, and 45% made the honor roll! And this past May, “Club” team members representing five Chicago schools prepped hundreds of hours to compete in the 2017 “Bible Bowl” to win this year’s prize—a trip to Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC when it opens in November! Kids—enthusiastically engaging with the Bible!
