To Everything a Season

"Turn! Turn! Turn!" by the Byrds is a classic rock song of the 60s! And “to everything a season”—the perfect setting for this National Senior Citizens Day. The lyrics were borrowed from the Bible in Ecclesiastes 3—it’s last two lines word for word. The Bible has a lot to say about the honor due the elderly: from the Torah in Leviticus 19:32, “You shall stand up before the gray head”; from Proverbs 16:31, “Gray hair is a crown of glory”; and from Job 12:12, “Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days."
