Your Bible: A Coloring Book

Your Bible . . . is a coloring book? That’s just the beginning in what has become one of the most popular new ways to engage with the Bible—known as “Bible journaling."

Taking its cue from the nationwide hobby and craft phenomenon of recent years, it's come a long way from merely using colored pens for underlining favorite passages and verses. Websites and social media postings offer creative ideas with sample artwork. Publishers are producing kits that include everything from coloring books, art supplies and stickers, to how-to pages to enhance creativity in personalizing the study of the Bible.

One Bible journaling kit comes with a supply pouch inscribed with “Whatever is lovely . . .” taken from Philippians 4:8: “Whatever is lovely, whatever is excellent . . . think about such things.” Creatively engaging with the Bible—this Book of all books!
