Bubba Watson: Golf and the Bible

PGA golfer Bubba Watson is known for his “larger than life” personality—to say nothing of his unique and winning style on the course! And as one of golf’s more prominent social media communicators, he tweets thousands of inspirational messages.

In 2011, right before the final round of the Masters, he tweeted “No matter what happens today—good or bad, 'Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice'"—quoting Philippians 4:4! Earlier in his career, Watson said his temper had kept him from seeing the “good from the bad.” He said: “I have this competitive fire going on the course.”

When CBN asked what inspired some of his these breakthrough moments, Watson said: "I read my Bible and get key thoughts like, ‘don’t worry about this shot you’ve blown off the first tee’ . . . The Bible is my mental coach now.”
