Favorite Bible Verses of 88 Nations

Who would’ve thought that in 2016, an obscure verse like Zechariah 14:9 would be the top shared verse on YouVersion—for people in two countries with little in common otherwise: Israel and Afghanistan!

Zecheriah 14:9 says: “The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.”

While Romans 8:28 was a favorite for 10 out of 88 nations tracked—topping the global list overall, Jeremiah 29:11 was hands down, the verse most highlighted, shared and bookmarked.

YouVersion reps say, “In every category that we measure, the global YouVersion community has been more engaged with the Bible throughout 2016 than any other year.”
