The Bible in Fashion

Think the Bible hasn’t impacted modern fashion? Think again! So much of the imagery in the Bible is about garments and clothing--
a surprising point made in 2014 London Fashion Week and British Fashion Awards event. Simon Ward, COO of the British Fashion Council and author of “Rising the Tide: a Tithe of Psalms!” opened the event with a song saying: “Your truth never goes out of fashion, I can always walk with my head held high”—from Psalm 119 in The Message translation of the Bible.
The curate at St. James where the event was held said, “It’s often difficult for the church to engage with culture. . .but in our society there is a deep search for meaning, and we need to engage in that conversation—in every part of society.”
