Shannon Miller: The Most Decorated US Gymnast

Shannon Miller is the only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame. . .twice!

But one of her greatest obstacles was loneliness?

My mom used to write little note cards and put sayings from the Bible on them. So when I felt really stressed or homesick. . .I’d read through each card.”

Shannon says: “I really liked the verse: God is my strength and power, and he maketh my way perfect.” It was particularly helpful on the floor exercise. I would always be so winded by the end of my floor routine, and my legs would feel like jelly before my last pass, but I would remember that saying, and I wold be able to land on my feet.”
