"The adventures of James Bond have certainly glamorized the world of spies and espionage! Did you know there’s an International Spy Museum in Washington, DC that is dedicated entirely to the history of espionage and its impact from biblical times to the present day!

A plaque on a wall of the museum prominently displays the words from Numbers 13 when the Lord said to Moses: “The LORD said to Moses, ‘Send men to spy out the land of Canaan . . . .’ Moses sent them . . . and said to them, ‘. . . see what the land is like, and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many, and whether the towns that they live in are unwalled or fortified, and whether the land is rich or poor . . .’" (NRSV).
