The Liberty Bell at Museum of the Bible
The Spirit of Liberty Bell is a reminder of the Bible’s impact on the history of the United States. This replica of the Liberty Bell, now installed in Museum of the Bible, stands six feet tall and weighs 3,200 pounds—an iconic American symbol. It’s situated prominently in the “Bible in America” exhibit area on the Impact of the Bible Floor of the museum.
Why the Liberty Bell in a museum about the Bible? The Liberty Bell is one of the most famous monuments inscribed with a verse from the very book being honored at Museum of the Bible. Leviticus 25:10 encircles the bell with the words: “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”
