A Museum Experience Like No Other
The entrance to Museum of the Bible may be the most photographed museum entrance in Washington, DC! Visitors will be welcomed by dramatic forty-foot high bronze gates emblazoned with Genesis 1 from the Gutenberg Bible—with panels mimicking the Latin—typeset backwards as it would have been on the Gutenberg Press.
A unique piece of art hangs in the lobby: a glass panel displaying Psalm 19 from a papyrus leaf from the Museum Collections. The Greek text dates to the third or fourth century—a 1500-year-old manuscript on display inside the museum! Museum of the Bible invites all people to engage with the Bible, in a museum experience unlike anything seen before—all in honor of the Bible!
